Are you willing to live on purpose?

“On purpose” = to achieve something with intentionality.

Are you living your life in this way? Do you have a goal, a plan, a process to measure success and adjust your actions as necessary? Don’t create a New Year’s resolution, merely a wish that might or might not happen. Instead, take the time today to step back, step away, focus on capturing your intentions for your life and what you will do in 2022 to make those happen. Then, use this start to a new year to build a plan that matters because your life matters, right? Who is going to do it if you won’t? No one. Why live that way? Start living an “on purpose” life today. That’s a goal that matters…

Your personal board of directors…

Who is on the “board of directors” for your life? The people that you trust to give you wisdom and perspective when you need guidance? Who are the people that will give you perspective and counsel when you don’t even know that you need it?

These are invaluable advisors because they will help you see the gaps in your plans and thinking and help you find ways to overcome them. The key is to make sure that you are fostering these relationships and ASKING for the input. If you have great plans, but don’t seek counsel, and then LISTEN to it, you are missing the entire point.

Do you have a list of people in your head as trusted advisors and councilors? If you don’t, make the list and foster those relationships.

A great symphony isn’t of any value unless there is an orchestra there to bring it to life. To convert the written notes into the music which fills the air takes tremendous effort, collaboration and direction from many people all aiming for the same thing, to bring to life what is essentially just a written plan.

I don’t know anyone who achieved anything without dedicating themselves to the work necessary to turn their plans into a new reality. There are no free rides in life. Do the work, the hard work, or you won’t be able to hear the music…
