Urgency is everything…

“Without a sense of urgency, desire loses its value.”

Jim Rohn

What do you deeply desire? Will it make you get up out of bed an hour earlier? Move a little faster? Work a little harder? If the answer is no, do you even desire it? If you can’t muster the energy to do the work, does desire even matter?

Perhaps if you can bring a sense of urgency to all you do, you will find more of what you desire…

Focus on adding value, because it’s not about you…

“To add value to others, one must first value others.”

John Maxwell

Do you value others over yourself? Is the success of other people more important to you than your success?

If the answer to the questions above isn’t an unambiguous “YES,” then you can’t genuinely say you value others or desire to add value to them because your interests are self-serving.

That’s not leadership; it’s just another name for attempted manipulation.

Are you focused on the giving or taking value?

“Earn your success based on service to others, not at the expense of others.”

H. Jackson Brown, Jr.

Is your life a debit or a credit to the lives of others? Do you bring value to people, or are you a person that extracts value from others?

Extracting value isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but it matters significantly about where you want that value to be delivered. Is it for your benefit or the sake of those whom you serve? Which perspective will count and be meaningful after you are gone from this earth?

How do you define success?

“Strive not to be a success, but rather to be of value.”

Albert Einstein

Success is a result of a intentional choices or actions. Striving to be of value is how you choose to show up. If your efforts aren’t a success, but you love how you showed up, isn’t that just success by a different name?
