“Remember how far you’ve come, not just how far you have to go. You are not where you want to be, but neither are you where you used to be.”
Rick Warren
One of my favorite books of recent years is “The Gap and the Gain” by Dan Sullivan and Dr. Benjamin Hardy. The book’s premise is how some people can spend so much time striving that they don’t stop to value how far they have come. It is a powerful lesson and a reminder of the importance of pausing and appreciating the gains you have made in life.
Contrast this perspective with this post I wrote almost six years ago. While I still agree it is essential to strive and seek growth and improvement, I now have so much more appreciation for pausing and seeing the growth that has occurred along the journey.
