Are you a happiness magnet for others?

“Optimism is a happiness magnet. If you stay positive, good things and good people will be drawn to you.”

Mary Lou Retton

Think of the type of person you want to spend time with. Are they like Winnie the Pooh, always cheerful, finding the best in life, and assured that they will eventually get the honey? Or are they like Eeyore, pessimistic, depressed, and convinced that the world is out to get them? (Of course, Eeyore had some brilliant quotes as well…)

Most of us would probably choose the former, but are we that person, and do we cultivate and prune our relationships and behaviors to ensure this is the case?

A mentor of mine recently shared an incredible book with me, “The Power of Ted,” which has helped me understand and reframe my approach to others and myself. It is far too rich of a topic to dive into here, but I highly recommend the book. For a summary, go HERE or check out the official website HERE.

When in doubt, be grateful. It is almost impossible to be a pessimist while saying “thank you.”
