Are you keeping track of what really matters?

“Things are far too serious for us to lose our sense of humor!”

Terry Patten

Have you laughed today? Heck, have you smiled? If you can’t remember, stop what you are doing and find something to smile about. Life is too short not to smile and laugh. A few years ago, a mentor of mine introduced me to a daily scoreboard exercise that I have since modified and adjusted to fit my life. One of the elements I score myself on every day is whether or not I laughed. It seems silly, but now I have a record of key moments that made me smile.

Yes, maybe keeping ‘score’ is far too serious an effort for something like smiling and laughing. Keeping score on the important things in life, though, that’s what really matters.
