“The purpose of life is a life of purpose.”
Robert Byrne
The theme of my devotional this morning was centered on this very idea. It reminded us that life isn’t about chasing the next career objective, personal milestone, or significant accomplishment. Instead, life is about becoming the person we are intentionally designed and created to become: someone who lives with integrity, kindness, and purpose. Jesus modeled this focus on becoming, not doing. He didn’t ask what people were accomplishing; He cared about their character, love, and faith.
It’s so easy to get wrapped up in the “doing.” Our world pushes us to measure ourselves by our titles, accomplishments, and the busy pace of our lives. But that’s a distraction from the more profound question: Who am I becoming in the process of all this doing? When we focus solely on what we hope to achieve, we risk losing sight of who we are called to become.
Is the purpose of your life what you are doing or who you are becoming?
