“Celebrate what you want to see more of.”
Tom Peters
The truth is that people repeat what gets recognized. Excellence, effort, courage, whatever you want more of, must be celebrated openly. Whether acknowledging someone’s small initiative or a bold move, we’re saying, “This is the standard.” It’s not just about a pat on the back; it’s about setting a bar and teaching everyone else that “this is what great looks like.”
But here’s the uncomfortable part. If we don’t intentionally celebrate desired actions, they will fade into the background. They are missed and unvalued; soon, they might not happen. How will anyone know it matters if you’re not calling it out?
