Daring to Fail: The Price of 10x Leadership Impact

I remember the day I signed up for my first Ironman race. I was excited, confident, and I had plenty of time to train.

Flash forward a year later, and I was standing at the starting line—heart beating out of my chest.

The reality hit me like a wave. I could fail. All those hours of training could still end with me falling short.

But I also knew this: I had put in the work.

And risking failure was the price to even have a shot at success.

Every leader faces that same choice.

Keep stacking small wins—or take the leap toward something truly transformative?

Progress in small steps feels good. But playing it safe won’t lead to the kind of 10x success that changes you, your team, or your future.

That kind of success requires daring to fail.

Are You Playing It Safe or Daring to Fail?

Think back to the defining moments of your life.

Taking your first steps as a child.

Saying “I do” and stepping into marriage.

Launching a business with no guarantee it would survive.

None of those moments were without risk. Failure was a real possibility. But each decision unlocked something extraordinary.

If your goals don’t scare you—if failure isn’t possible—you’re likely aiming too small.

10x growth requires the courage to fall flat along the way.

What Are You Willing to Risk for Leadership Success?

Achieving greatness costs something—comfort, time, maybe even your reputation.

The question is: How much are you willing to put on the line?

Would you still chase your vision if you knew you might fail?

If your answer is “yes,” the risk is worth it.

If it’s “no,” maybe you need a bigger vision.

Remember, as leaders, it is the impact we have on others that really matters. Unleash their 10x…

Failure Isn’t the End—It’s the Path

Daring to fail doesn’t mean recklessness. It means refusing to let fear limit your vision.

Failure sharpens resilience. It refines you as a leader.

So—what bold move will you take today—the one that might fail, but might change everything?

Write it down. Name it. Say it out loud. The impact you will have on self, and others, deserves to be unleashed…

Because daring to fail is the first step toward daring to lead.
