Welcome to the Leadership Quotient. I’m Dusty Holcomb. And each day, I’ll share a meaningful quote and explore how it applies to leadership and personal growth. Together, we’ll unpack lessons that help you lead yourself and others with purpose and clarity. Let’s get started.

00:00:21.855 –> 00:00:42.915
In a mirror is where we find a reflection of our appearances. In a heart is where we find a reflection of our soul. Linda Armstrong. The mirror never lies, but it only tells part of the story. It reflects what we look like, who we are, the deeper truths, the state of our heart, the essence of our soul.

00:00:43.075 –> 00:00:44.995
Those are found elsewhere. They show

00:00:44.995 –> 00:00:45.875
up in the honesty of

00:00:45.875 –> 00:01:13.815
a trusted friend, the wisdom of a mentor, or the raw self awareness that emerges in quiet moments of reflection. The real question is, do we have the courage to see it? Facing the reflection of our soul can be uncomfortable, even unsettling, but it is IN that discomfort where growth begins. Think about the people in your life who service mirrors for your soul. Are they the kind of people who challenge you with love, who reflect back both your strengths and your blind spots?

00:01:14.675 –> 00:01:38.155
Brene Brown and The Gifts of Imperfection reminds us that vulnerability is a pathway to connection. Real growth happens when we allow others to hold up a mirror that reveals not just what’s working, but what isn’t. This isn’t about self criticism. It’s about self awareness. Leadership requires the humility to admit there’s always room for improvement and the resolve to act on that awareness.

00:01:39.335 –> 00:02:03.240
So who do you turn to for reflection? And just as importantly, be open to what they might show you. Leadership starts with self leadership, and self leadership starts with the willingness to see the truth. If you’re not sure where to start, take a moment to reach out to someone whose insights you trust. Just stem for their honest reflection, not just to who you are today, but who you’re becoming, and be prepared to sit with their response.

00:02:03.695 –> 00:02:05.315
Growth begins there.

00:02:08.335 –> 00:02:25.670
Thanks for joining me on the Leadership Quotient. I hope today’s quote gave you something to think about and apply in your leadership journey.
