So what if you are down, get back up!

“Resilience is knowing that you are the only one that has the power and the responsibility to pick yourself up.”

Mary Holloway

When life knocks you down, what’s your first instinct? Do you wait for someone to come along and lift you back up, or do you recognize that the power to get back on your feet is already within you?

Resilience is often misunderstood. People talk about it like it’s some grand quality you either have or you don’t. But in reality, resilience is simpler—and harder—than that. It’s the quiet, stubborn decision to stand up again, even when every part of you feels like staying down. No one else can do it for you. We can lean on others for support, but what about the act of rising? That’s on you.

Instead of waiting, take the first step and choose to own your situation, no matter how overwhelming.

Recognize that you can’t outsource your strength. You’ve got to claim it. Where do you need to start rising again today?
